1950s Luxury Bulova Watch | Rare Military Vintage Bulova Watch
1950s Luxury Bulova Vintage Watch
This is one of the most beautiful vintage 1950s Bulova watches for men and women in our collection. The dial has a nice dark-blue/black mandala-shaped design that gives the watch a very luxurious feel. The gold-tone hour markers and subdial second hand provide a very interesting contrast.
The watch seems to have been gold-plated at some point but given that it is around 70 years old that has mostly worn off. Nonetheless, the watch is in fantastic condition with very little chipping or scratches.
The age and dial style point to a military-style vintage Bulova watch.
The attention to detail on the dial of the watch is way above your common vintage watch. The shape of the hour markers, the subdial, and the bezel that is beautifully decorated add up to something unique! The black watch strap and gold-tone sutures complement this design even more.
Year: Circa 1950s
The watch is in working condition.
This is a vintage mechanical watch that has been preserved in very good condition. In order for it to keep time correctly, the watch needs to be hand-wound periodically.
About mechanical watches
A mechanical watch is a watch that uses a clockwork mechanism to measure the passage of time, as opposed to quartz watches which function electronically, with the help of a small battery.
A mechanical watch is driven by a mainspring which must be hand-wound periodically. Its force is transmitted through a series of gears to power balance, a weighted wheel that oscillates back and forth at a constant rate. A device called an escapement releases the watch's wheels to move forward a small amount with each swing of the balance wheel, moving the watch's hands forward at a constant rate.
